and we saw a young mum with her little baby in a buggy feeding a hoard of ducks - the child was happily laughing when all of a sudden we heard a massive splash (no the child did not fall in! ) and the heffalump we call Roly was swimming after the ducks in the lake - then there was another splash and Chester was in as well
The woman gasped in horror and hurriedly walked away - obviously not a dog lover
I wouldnt mind but Roly and Chester have never ever swam before!!
I have to say that today we met lots and lots of grumpy dog owners who huffed and puffed every time our two went near there dogs - where were all the nice people today

sometimes its just like that isn't it... some people just dont understand the the regular labbie HAS to meet and greet and attempt to play with every dog they meet!!!! just because their dogs are boring!!!!
Don't let it put you off.. as long as you enjoyed it!!
There was one woman who had a little westie and my two were playing around and jumping in the lakes etc and she shouted down the path to us to put them on a lead as she did not feel her dog would be safe
Not sure what planet she was from but it was her dog that tried to go for my two and made Chester cry!!
I know that if you do not have labs you don't understand there bouncing playful nature - but my two what not hurt a fly - they may have swam after ducks but the swans soon saw them both off (they hid behind hubby's legs).
And then there was a woman who had 2 labs and another dog and they were all bitches and off the lead. As my boys went up to say hello she started screaming "get them away my girls are in season".
I was so mad I don't have girlies but my own common sense would say not to take them out to a vry public place whilst in season or at least keep them on a lead.
Awhh Sam absolutley pmsl at the image of Roly and Chester happily swimming following the ducks ...Bless them
Don't let the Grumpy owners you met today put you off ..... As rachel says sometimes we get those days ...BUT more often that not it's lovley dogs and their happy human " Pets" that we all get to meet....

Was her dog on a lead?, if not it should have been!!, most Westie owners will tell you they can more than look after themselves, I know cos I have one and although she`s 10 now she can still give better than she gets as CJ will testify
Mary - no it was'nt - we thought it was a fragile little thing by the way she was acting - saying that she worried for it's safety - it could have seen off a rotweiler!!
Oh, what a shame some people have closed minds. When I used to have Reeve on his halti I got sick of people staring and muttering to themselves about dangerous dogs on muzzles
