Hello and welcome from us How exciting for you and nerve racking at the same time. Ask away with questions loads of helpful advice on here as you've already found out Jade's blog is fantastic reading and for a complete novice on breeding i have learnt alot from it and also gained a beautiful black pup from Jade's litter how chuffed am i Her names Darcie and she comes home to join my choccie boy and yellow girlie next saturday............can't wait!!!!!!!
Good luck with your pups and do keep us up to date we love pups on here and hearing how they're getting on don't forget pics
How exciting (and nervous) you must be! We might be expecting puppies on the 26th July and we are first timers too! We are popping in to the vets later on this week for a quick feel and maybe a scan.
Jade's blog is wonderfully informative isn't it? I have also looked way back on this forum and have found out so much more. Have you got the Book of the Bitch by JM Evans and Kay White? Both my husband and I have read it and we refer to it so much.
Sue51 is expecting a litter on the 8th July and I expect she'll be along to post soon.
Looking forward to hearing more on the pregnancy - how about some photos?

I got Millie age 17mths from Gilly Nickols at Bedgebrook gundogs where her owner had sent her to be sold and she suggested alitter, as well as my vet- who is hoping for a pup if family permits! so I started on eye tests, xrays and chose the dog because he is physically very good and has a FANTASTIC temperament. he belongs to friends of afriend so we know him
Hi Christine! How lovely to see someone else on here from Jersey
I know what you mean about how hard it is to find a stud dog over here (for any breed!), there just aren't really any!
I hope all goes well with Millie's pregnancy, make sure you show us some piccies! XX

Christine.... who came over for his hols? 'Who is the daddy' I see you are in jersey - was it one of Gillys boys? Rouble or Scally?
Its very interesting for people who live not on the mainland.... you guys cannot have anything like the variety of sires to use without a long boat journey and throws a whole new interesting light on picking a Sire with such limited selection.
Good luck with the babies!

Hi, Thanks for all your good luck wishes- they are very welcome and same goes back to you both waiting [impatiently like me im sure] The sire is not one of Gillys as travel to E Sussex is too long. He is called Tonka Toy and though 9 yr old has only started stud career last year but first litter very highly thought of. He lives at Hurstbourne nr Whitchurch so straight run down to docks. he has been picking up and beating but not competing. he is black, she yellow same as his last bitch who produced mixed litter so thats exciting too!
