There seems to be dog hair everywhere at the moment, any recommendations? I don't brush Simba much, would this help?

Getting a stripping comb would be a big help Kirsty, yellows do seem to moult more than chocs and blacks so I`ve heard.

Its surprising how much comes off them when you use a stripping comb, I get enough off CJ to make 2 or 3 more Labs it seems Laughing Laughing

Yes - in a word it would hehehe Wink

I don't brush Danny very often, but do find that using his rubber mitt or shedding blade on him once or twice a week at the moment helps with the moulting...

I use a shedding blade on Sherpa it works wonders Wink

As Mary says People have said that yellows appear to moult more than Black and Choccie labs.... Iv'e found this to be the case when i see Corbie and George next to Sherpa. Sherpa's fur covers them when he has occassion to play with them Laughing

Certainly on a weekly Basis George goes home with a good smattering of Sherpa fluff Embarassed Laughing

I thought Dora was not loosing much hair until after a play session with my son 'covered' my carpet in yellow hairs didnt seem to notice it much until then- the black seem to blend in.
Looks like I'll have to get shares in 'sellotape' for my work (rather than school) uniforms after all!!
never saw the need fopr a shedding blade before........... Embarassed

Embarassed Ive never used a shedding blade with Basil either.

I always thought they were for thinning hair not detting rid of the loose stuff.

I brush basil at least a couple of times a week with a metal brush thing (im sure it has a proper name but it looks like a wiry hairbrush) and loads comes out.

How exactly does one of those fine shedding combs help the situation? Embarassed

thanks for all your replies, I'll have to give it a go, I'm continously having to use sellotape on the kids school uniforms at the moment and the hoover is constantly full of dog hair!!

Im sure you would find a shedding blade very useful , i bought one a few weeks ago and we brushed Abbey everyday for the first week and tonnes of hair came off her , now we do her 2-3 times a week just to tidy her up and not much is coming off her as i think we are keeping on top of it.

I also give Abbey Moult Fromula by Vitapet during the summer months, its supposed to help reduce moulting and promotes a healthy glossy coat. I have certainly found it helps.

I invested in a shedding blade today as Bailey sheds enough hair to make another dog!! could'nt belive how much hair it lifted, all the light dead hair has almost gone..amazing!!
