Hi, I recently posted my introduction where I said in four litters I had not got a single pup suitable for me, literally no yellows at all.

I got a call from a breeder last night where 8 yellows were born and 5 of those bitches and Im second on the list to pick. yippee.

I've met both dam and sire and need some advice.
The dad is perfect for us, pure working dog, full pedigree of FTCH and FTW, excellent hips/elbows/eye.

Speaking to the breeder he said although the mum is full working / KC reg etc he took her in after 12 months from a friend who could not cope with the amount of dogs he had were she was completely de-humanised and not good with humans / other dogs etc. When I met her she was absolutely beautiful and had a really soft temperament and she was lovely,

My question is, can her previous up bringing / behavior follow through to the new pups?

Hi Rodders

In my experience the upbringing of the dam has no affect on the pups

they will grow into their own wee characters just make sure that you socialise your puppy well so as your pup will then be fine with other people and dogs

good luck to you and your puppy when you get it

I aggree with the others. The puppys will pick up on the behaviour she displays now. Plus you will be able to make sure little bundle is a social as possible x

That's great news!!!! The pups' behaviour will depend on how they are brought up and socialised now and should not be passed through from the bitch's previous experiences of life...

We can choose in 5 weeks, I then go on holiday for 10 days then when I return we hope to collect.
Im hoping to visit before then, but that needs to be arranged.

We have some names, here goes.

Keira, Meg, Megan, Dasiy, Sophie, Molly (me fav), Tegan and Pebbles.

I am new to site so will try and find out how to upload some pics.
Thanks
