I have been thinking about these mixes lately especially as we have one at agility training. And a poodle that has recently been mated to a male golden retriever.

What are peoples thoughts on them??
I'm just generally interested, i know how many of the breeders of labradors feel about them on here, but could you explain your reasons for this?

I know i was and still am astonished at the prices they sell for!! and disgusted! Mad

At the end of the day they are just cross breeds and the so called breeders only interest is most likely to make a bit of money. I read a news paper ad the other day and someone was asking £900 for a chocolate labradoodle. I have also heard about the goldendoodles.

it not just then you have the sprollie's and many more.

Im not a breeder, but it makes me cross. We have people like Di, Kay and Mhairi to name a few, that spent an awful lot of the time and money trying to improve the breed we all love, then they see ads like i saw it must be heart breaking

I think if people want a cross breed, they should go and rescue one of the many that end up in centres all over the UK,
And the money these so called "breeders" charge for them Shocked Twisted Evil is disgusting Shocked

There is no such breed as a Labradoodle.. NOR any other kind of Doodle.. the are crosses.. or to put it bluntly.. Mongrels...

yes accidents can happen.. but deliberately putting two seperate breeds together for financial gain..especially at such extortionate (yes it is extortion) prices..... Puppy farming... no other reason....

And why do people pay such large sums for these mongrels.. well.. the old saying .... A FOOL and his money are soon parted

In my day dogs like these were called X breeds or Mongrels and were the result of dogs getting together accidently not the result of someone purposely putting the two together to produce something that is supposedly allergen free or similar.

Now I know what the GSD X Lab was really called that my family had, she must have been an Aladoodle, or an Alador Laughing Laughing
