Zac was sick yesterday morning [3rd] not long after he'd gotton up. It wasn't a lot, though when he was bringing it up it sounded like he had brought every bit of food he'd ever eaten up. It didn't smell like his sick has done before when you can clearly see his food in it.
What concerned me slightly was the colour. It was bright yellow and after I had wiped it up you could still see a yellow mark on the floor [before I cleaned it].
Then this morning at 4am [4th] he had been laying on my bed when he got up and was sick again. Same as before. The noise of it actually made me gag.

I haven't seen him eat anything he shouldn't nor has he been given anything he's not used to. He's been fine in himself, still eating, drinking and as lively as normal. He went straight back to sleep afterwards.

Don't know if this will be relevant but when he's been sick before he has sometimes tried to eat it or lick at the area when it has been cleared away. Only these two times he hasn't.

Could the reason the sick was yellow and him not trying to eat it be because his stomach was empty. His last meal is between 5.30 - 6ish, so he'd had no food for several hours before he was sick on these two occassions.

I know it's not nice talking about sick but when your concerned you've gotta ask.

If he's sick again I will take him to the vet with a sample of the sick to see what they say.

Thanks for reading and any replies,

Becca

I'm no expert but that's what normally happens when they are vomiting on an empty stomach. My Springer does it all the time - it's gooey and slimy - horrible stuff! Bile I think.....

I wonder why he is being sick though?

Hi Becca

Boo had very similar sickness after Christmas. She was sick just in the mornings, but OK in her self & still eating (her poos where normal to). I took her to the vet just to put my mind at rest as it is unusal for her to be sick & it turned out she had a temperature so the vet gave her 2 injections & some medicine. She had picked up a bug or had eaten something nasty.
Not saying its the same for Zac, but I would call your vet, if you are concerned to seek some advice & to put your mind at rest.

Hope Zac feels better soon.

As Sarah says it sounds like he`s bringing up bile, nothing else in the stomach.

Does seem strange though that Zac should only be sick well after he`s digested a meal, I`d at least phone a vet and ask their advice, they may want to see Zac and give him something in case he has a bug Smile

Hope he`s ok, please keep us updated on how he`s doing Smile

Thanks everyone,

Zac seems to cope well in the heat, though I do try to avoid mid day heat exsoposure. So walk him first thing in am and last thing pm.

I have rung the vet [made sure it was a vet I spoke to aswell, no offence vet nurses] and they said if it happens again [making it 3 days on the trot] to bring him in for a check up. Which I certainly will do. If he had other symtops I would take him today.

Thanks for your comments and cercern, It's appreciated. I know we all get concernced about one anothers Labs, it's hard not too.

Becca
