He came originally from Devon so no he knows nothing up here.
His breeder has left a jumper with the new owner that if he is seen we could possibly set up a den with it for him.
But our best chance is to take other Bedlingtons he will hopefully come to them. But we need a sghting or we have no idea where to start looking.

Part of the problem is he went missing on Tuesday but the new owner left it till saturday evening to let the breeders know, they came up from Devon and searched all day Sunday then contacted us in the evening.

4 local Bedlington owners searched the area today and are now on standby if any sightings are made.

Ok...these terriers have an acute sense of smell.

Taking everything into account, lost in stange place, scared and with the natural ability to go to ground. Lets hope he has stayed close. Drag the jumper, weighted down a bit to ensure the smell ' lays ', along the path you suspect he ran ...

Ideally you want the contents of the breeders hoover bag Rolling Eyes but clearly this may not be possible....so use the jumper....drag it to a safe but close place, with a soft, muddy base and leave smelly food and a cut of piece of the jumper ( don't leave it all as it is tail end of foxes breeding season and the Vixen might take it away ).
Get breeders to send anything of theirs up, T shirts, anything unwashed. Or his bedding ( pup not owner Rolling Eyes ) Keep dragging out and replenishing food. Yes foxes may steal it but you will know if it's a fox or dog by their pawprints in the mud etc

They also have excellent hearing, can the breeders do a tape to send up to you...I know it sounds a bit daft but we are trying to get him, if he is still close enough, to hone into some little bit of familair / normality.

Which part of Devon are the breeders? Not specific just roughly ?

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
Been to the area again today to distribute posters no sign of him anywhere. I just hope someone has found him and taken him in and when they hear we are looking will get in touch. We are just trying to spread the word as far as possible in a week he could have travelled some miles so may now be in a totally different area.
So we just want everyone to keep there eyes open for a little grey (though probably mud brown by now) dog.

Thanks again to know people are out there wishing us well does help.

Yvonne

I'm very pleased to announce Oscar is FOUND.
I was heading down to Newbury to stay for the weekend on Thursday as i reached the A12 the phone rang. A very nice man Mr Alston had just found Oscar curled up on the straw in his barn when he went to feed his Donkeys and Ponies. So a quick detour to Coggeshall and now Oscar is back down in Devon with his breeders, very tired and very thin but he will make a full recovery.
Thanks to everyone for there support and help.

Yvonne
