hi..
i intruduced myself and my dogs yesterday..
the reason i´m here is to search for relatives of my dog dexter.

dexters mother is ara sarah from bucarest, romania. and ara sarah is a daughter or granddaughter from a labrador, which was a present from the queen of england to the former dictator ceaucesku.. (?) can this be true??

in dexters pedigree there are lots of names which sound "english"..
maybe one of you can give me some informations about these names..
is there any name you know? do you know existing breeders with names like olderhill etc....? here are some names:

olderhill game gemma
point blank olderhill
drumtochty kali at olderhill
craigenros benvorlich
moorsdyke may of drumtochty
heath down stroller
black magic soldier
chi-qung nougat
paducach indiana jones
drumtochty kali at olderhill

yesterday i found a "relative" of dexter here in the forum –> he has 3 same names in his familly tree –> it´s baileydawg –> http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopic-16881-previous.html
the names are point blank olderhill heath down stroller and black magic soldier..!

please help if you can!
greets, katl, dexter & duke

I recognise the name :- drumtochty kali at olderhill , the drumtochty affix is owned by a lady called Sylvia Baird from Perthshire in scotland, I am afraid she doesn't have pc access or a website to my knowledge so I can tell you no more than that I am afraid Confused

hey – thanks for the replies and _bumps_ ..! Very Happy

it´s really interesting getting to know where my dog comes from..!
it´s a pity that the drumtochty-lady has no website or something.. because there are so many drumtochtys in dexters family tree..

the other dogs in his family tree (mothers site) comes mostly from hungaria and romania..
for example: átokházi anasztázia, koppányházi gertrud, fóthy-kedves arisztid, tolnai-tóth ancsa, tolnai-toht démon
oh my god.. i took me so long to tipe those names.. huuuhhh..

and the other ones (dukes parents, grandparents and so on..) comes from germany, austria, belgium and czech republik..
funny.. dexter is multinational.. Very Happy

interesting – the thing with drakeshead..!! i often read this name somewhere.. must be a really huge kennel.. famous breeder?

does anybody know anything about the queen –> does she have labs? is it possible that the story is true that she once gave labradors as a present to former romanian dictator ceaucesku??? ..i some kind of can´t believe this story............

ok.. thank you so much for so long..!
and please fell free to write anything you know about any name from dexters family..!
send you greets from graz, katl & the boys

Regarding your query on breeders - I can help you with the Moorsdyke breeder - he is my father Archie Dykes! He is based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Also I know the lady with the Drumtochty prefix and would be happy to forward any queries you have for her.

Hope this helps!

Audrey

This is a story I had long forgotten. I cannot remember now whether the then President Ceaucesku was visiting this country, or whether it was HM the Queen who was visiting Romania, but I can distinctly remember Her Madgesty making a gift of one of her Labrador Puppys. The Queen's affix is Sandringham. But yes, it did happen. I would say though that it would be a Grand daughter, or even further back. At a guess I would say that the gift was made at some time in the early 1970's. I'm sure it would have been well before 1980.

I seem to remember speaking to a work colleague quite a few years ago now who told me that her sons black lab had come from the Queens kennel in Sandringham - he had her as a young adolescent and she was sooooooo well trained!!!

oooh how exciting hehe...Toby is very distantly related to your Dexter - his great-great-grandfather on his Dan's side was Mark of Drakeshead!...

Good luck in your search...
