grrrrr who's job is it?????

anyone got any idea as to whos job it is to clear public paths that cut through countryside????

started taking dylan for 10-15 min walks now, and about 10m from my house is one of those public right of ways (the ones with they yellow and green arrows on the little round label). however its virtually impassible due to nettles (about 4 foot high) grass (about 3 foot) and worse of all wild brambles hanging over the almost invisible track...... this goes on for about 100m till you get to the fields/farmland. Im worred dyaln may get stung or hurt by thorns, which is last thing we need since my g/f intends to try trialling with him. Confused

I was in jeans and boots and my legs got scratched and arms stung.. Evil or Very Mad

.. so Im ready to have a rant but dont know who it should be to????

I would carry Dylan through it avoiding any thorns and the likes.

Hi - we had a similar problem withan overgrown track here in Burnley - a couple of phone calls to the local council and a chat with our local councillor soon got it strimmed back. Very Happy

Its the same here.
I live right beside the countryside so plenty of great walks in woods etc, however they are all knee deep in netals etc.
In all honesty Leo really doesnt bother about it, the netals dont bother him one bit and i just keep my arms and legs covered when i take him for walks that way.
However it would be nice for some of it to be strimmed down a touch so i can see at least 5 ft in front of me while walking Razz

if your GF is going to trail (by trail i take it you mean field trails?) he will have to get used to going throught brambles and nettles, as thats the kind of places pheseants fall, and where there will have to be flushed from

The DEFRA site should haveall the info you need if not maybe try your local council

Im ashamed to say no Embarassed

..... I have resorted to taking dylan in the car to a local park with a lake where he can walk past the ducks etc and have a paddle in the water Rolling Eyes

as part of his walk.

I must get onto the council tomorrow.
