Morning all,

The Kennel Club have not as yet started their Optigen list it appears. I'm sure it won't be long. However meantime I would like to show one list that has been being compiled since the tests started. BUT it is by volantary inclusion only (hence it being mostly Clear dogs of course - sad sigh) and secondly it is based in North America so therefore is mostly US and Canadian dogs but does have a splurge of European dogs.

http://www.tanbraelabradors.com/optigen.html

MORE TO THE POINT it is FREE to submit your dogs results. Please submit your dogs results. We have had a lot testing lately good and bad resulst (depending on what you were hoping for of course!).

Its so important we pile information into these databases to make it worthwhile.

Please go in and submit your dogs results. patterns build and people make better breeding choices. It will only take a few moments.

You will need the code Optigen gave you though to submit your result so you might have to have your results email to hand when you do it or ask Optigen quickly (they are very efficient on this) for your number if you have lost it.....

Please add your carriers as well as your Clears. Its not a witchhunt its for genuine interest.

Now I also know another lister has a European list but I will let her tell you avout that as I'm not quite sure how it works... Evelyn?

Thanks
Di

Clover added a little while ago :d - Hally still to be added - it took a few weeks from putting the details on for it to appear on the site - but most definitely a useful resource - pity this, or something like it it isn't mandatory Sad

Do you only list your dog if you have carried out the test yourself or can you list your dog if he is clear through parentage?

Hi Homer. The States have slightly different 'clear by parentage' rules. We are pretty much the only ones who do this 'on trust' as such. They insist on a DNA test to say the dog is 'by and from' the dogs they say it is to decalre it Clear by Parntage, so no, the list, for us, with no DNA proof is for first generation Optigen tested dogs.

Course if we can only get as many tested dogs listed as possible Clear by Parentage will become far simplier.

Di

Nic, but this is a more definiative site. Do you mean on the TW's site? Do take a sec to list her on Candees site too, it has been going a long time is is far more all encompassing. It is also the site Optigen push people into when they ask about a list of dogs tested and declared...

Its hard to pull definitive info in from unmpteen little places, so anyone who wishes to try and pool data needs to head for one of these larger sites....

Kay? Trace? Alison? Anyone! grin.... lets get listing Wink

Hi All,

Sorry forgot to mention - slightly deveating from thread, but Lynda Heron (Brigburn) is running another 20/20 Optigen clinic in May. Blood to get to her on or by 14th May, so she can send it 15th May, if anyone missed the last clinic she ran a couple of weeks ago.

Trace x

P.S - Di, Mine are now listed and excellent idea!
