another thread has me thinking. It costs more to insure a Pedigree dog than a cross breed. Ruby isnt KC registered so what is she? Has anyone looked into this with their pup?
I dont care if she is referred to as cross as tbh she may be half giraffe for all I know but just interested on whether I can save a few pennies - ta
As I said on the other thread Vicky, you might do well to check what your vet has her described as, I hate to think that a claim would be denied on that fact, but with insurance companies, who knows
____________ I am only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand !
It would be interesting to know.....But I fear that if you have already named her as a Labrador, it'll be too late to change, even if you switch companies.
I agree, I`m sure that the vets would have her down as a lab and insurance companies will do anything to get out of paying a claim if they can.
As I said on the other thread, there is no where on any of the insurance applications that offers to put a dog down as non KC reg. It is either by breed or classed as a cross breed.
Also I`m sure that companies such as M & S wouldn`t let you change her description, and retain the policy. You`d probably have to change companies in order to put her down as a cross breed.
I'm inclined to think that if you had to claim for something that was distinctly Labbie related (as opposed to cross breeds) such as HD or PRA then I wonder if they would question paying out for that .
I know if they can wriggle out of making a payment then they will.
Also I wonder if all their databases are linked...so as you already have Ruby listed on M&S as a Lab...would other insurance companies be able to see what she was registered before??
Can I put Jets home address down as yours Things are horribly expensive down here in Guildford
hehehe I know Suffolk is ridiculously cheap for EVERYTHING I moved up here 4 years ago and its amaing the difference between here and greater london where I was (Romford) : and I got a house for under £80k
