Carroll post about what she can try next with Dexter got me thinking.... I would love a go at training Mojo in Tracking/Scenting/Searching....I don't know the correct term for it. I'm sure she'd love it as she loves nothing more than to follow a smell, although I'm not so sure I can run as fast as her. Wink

Do any of you know of any organisations which do this sort of training (other than the Police)? I've googled around but can't find anything, especially in Essex. Confused

Any info gratefully received. Wink

Oooo Also....I nearly forgot......Have any of you ever tried to train your dogs to find truffles????? I'd love a go at that too, although I've no idea about where truffles grow. Rolling Eyes Laughing

I think Rhoni was taking Tilly out at one time teaching her to follow a follow a scent trail, maybe worth PMing her and asking Smile

Truffles are found underground not sure of the areas tho, they are pretty rare hence why they are so expensive, in France they tend to use pig to find them but dogs can be trained, they have to be good at dropping when told tho else your profits wil disappear down their stomach Laughing

Ok so I'm having a thick bint moment lol! The only truffle I know of is the chocolate one until I read this thred and became very confused! Rolling Eyes I had the oddest visions of old grannys making chocolate truffles and hiding them in the ground for pigs to find PMSL! Shocked
I found out what a 'real' truffle is (first link) .....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuber_%28genus%29

....then I found this link which tells you ( a little further down the page) where to find truffles! Very Happy
