Lost Labrador Database

A Sample spreadsheet has been set up in Excel (and Works formats). This can be downloaded from http://www.w-webs.net/ll/112.htm

When you get the open window, SAVE the file to a local drive so that you can add your information. Please follow the format headings of the sample data, as this allows the information to be transferred quickly and easily into the centralised database.

The information being collated is as follows

Pet Shops, Police, vets, wardens, rescue centres, dog training schools and walking groups, home boarding, schools, taxi firms, bus companies and boarding kennels.

The regional database has been split into counties within the home nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales). If people want to see how these are set up, they can be accessed on the web-page (http://www.w-webs.net/ll/112.htm) and select Regional Master Sheets (you will not be able to edit these without a password)

When you have completed your own regional sheets, they can be e-mailed to lostlabs@w-webs.net where the information will be transferred into the regions.

Hope this makes sense

Just one question and I am really sorry if this has already been answered on the other thread.
Obviously the counties are really big and there would be more than one police station ect, do the area co-ordinators have to fill ALL of those in for that area?

As promised here are the codes to put in the Type column of your spreadsheet (I did have a look to see if it had been done but couldn't spot one - if there is a list already around please let me know).

Assuming this is the only one can you use the following words to classify the type of contact in that line.

Warden - dog wardens - if you have the info pls add their designated pound in the comments
Park - council parks departments
School - schools
Vet - vet surgeries
Training - pet training schools
Walk - dog walking businesses
RSPCA
PDSA
Pounds - Include council pounds, local dog rescues and any kenneling establishments that may have taken in a dog. A class of Council/Private/Rescue can be added to comments
Police
Group - kids groups, brownies
Labint - Labrador clubs/groups
Pshop - pet shops
Taxi - taxi firms
Bus - local bus companies
Media - local press etc
Other - anything else of use in your area

Doesn't matter if it's caps or lower case

TVM

Liz
