Check this out - a lockable dog lead. It won't stop dog theft, but it might foil some attempts.

The lead has a steel cable through it so that it can't be cut, and it has a handle at one end (which you loop round a post/tree for example) and the other end of the leash has holes in it which go round the dog's neck like a collar and that's where you put the lock through - which means there is no separate lead and collar which can be disconnected so it's virtually impossible for your dog to be taken away if you tie it up.

hmmm looks a good lead/collar i would probably use it if i had to take the dog the shops (which i never do)..lol.. to scared someone will run off with them.lol.. does the steel cable run right through to wear it fastens around the neck though? as it might be cut of from there?
