http://www.animalfriends.org.uk/pet_insurance_dog_to_8.html

I use Animal Friends, I have never claimed though. It's £49 excess we have the gold super cover and when I renewed in September my policy went down a few pence.

Looking at the web site now though the premiums have gone up from what I pay.

I used More Than for Floss. Don't know how it compares now though as I started it a few years ago. When she died they paid up promptly but never had to claim for anything else.

Do you still have time to look around before you make a decision on who you use?

We're with More Than - and kind of stuck with them after our £3500 claim for Boomer's TPO as any further problems would be excluded from any other policy.

In fairness, they were very good at paying out and they do cover for the life of the illness, not just the first year.

I can't remember how much we're paying, I know they weren't the cheapest but they seemed to cover alot. Our excess is £75 and we have to pay 15% of any treatment.

Why not give Direct Line pet insurance a go? We've been with them since Herbie was an 8 week old puppy (he's nearly 4) and we've had to claim a few times for this and that without any fuss and they pay up promptly too. My cousin has used Direct Line pet insurance for a few years and she thinks they are good too. We've got the premier cover or whatever it is called, which is a bit more expensive, but gives good cover.

I have to confess that since I first posted I've now had a chance to look around.

I did find cheaper quotes but I found I couldn't beat the cover M & S were offering when quoting for one dog. However, I couldn't find anyone cheaper than M & S for two dogs Laughing Laughing

So it looks like it will be M & S again for the next 12 months.

Lesley

Hi Sheena, Noticed you said you had Animal Friends insurance .Please be careful they are underwritten by E+L Insurance. they don't have a very good reputation, our vets won't entertain them. It says on their
web sight that if you have to claim you don't contact Animal Friends but E+L.
