  |
|
When Julie first ask me would i post a thread about my fundraising for LOSTLABS week...I thought ok where do i start?..How do i explain what motivated me to try to help?
Well i now know i don't need to say much as i read the live diary of LL from yesterday and today... The happy reunites and also the sad reunites.. The LL stats etc... I think that seeing the incredible lengths that 3p and Rhoni go to 24hrs a day 7 days a week speaks volumes...
I know that back in 2005 having cause to speak to both Rhoni and 3p about LL i was amazed at their relentless hard work...thier unwavering resolve to reunite missing Labs just humbled me... and all this was done with very little funding.. mostly from thier own pockets and they were not going to be the ones asking for funds..... So i decided i would do so for them ....
Pawprints for LOSTLABS was my first venture at fundraising for LL ... I asked Julies permission which she gave and then posted the Pawprints thread ( without telling Rhoni and 3p!!! who were both shocked and delighted!! )
Well then it was my turn to be shocked and delighted
I had assumed that in offering to pay £1.00 a pawprint that i may at best receive about 40 pawprints so would donate £40.00 to LL... What i hadn't counted on was the generiosity of everyone who sent me back thier pawprints with donations ... So my estimated £40.00 turned into £272.00 Then i thought ok what to do with the pawprints? Someone suggested an autograph book... And the pawprints for Lostlabs autograph book was auctioned off and another £60.00 was raised thanks to LF's wonderful members
So this years fundraising is following along the same lines as pawprints but this year it's your lovley Labby faceprints i'm after... The pics i have so far are beautiful and the donations made are great...
Karen has kindly offered to paint a Corbie and co cartoon of 3 labbies holding a banner saying "We Support LOSTLABS" and this along with the Faceprints of our lovley labs will be put together in a frame and auctioned off prior to the GT
I'd like to say that I wasn't alone in raising funds for LOSTLABS .... Sue also did a great fundraiser for LL .... We were both awarded with a lovley silver coaster acknowledging our fundraising and share a place on the LOSTLABS fundraisers honours board for 2006 ( I have never won an award before and the proof of my surprise was captured by Karen who photographed me receiving my Coaster at last years GT ..Thankfully i'm still too much of a techno numpty to post it here as i'm capured blushing and tearful and not looking my best!!!
Talking of Karen and her camera ...She has also been quietly doing her bit via her art for LL and i think we should prompt her to fill us in
It would be so great if anyone else would like to help raise funds for LL over the coming years .....
I need some competition to get my name knocked off the LL fundraisers trophy board
Thanks for taking the time to read this rather long post
Just want to finish by saying..... Rhoni 3p you guys are the best WTG LOSTLABS
Trizia x

You do a great job Trish and I hope everyone will send you their lab's photos for this year's great fund raiser... Faceprints for Lost Labs!
Here's the photo of Trizia looking very surprised with her award at the GT last year, complete with the Fruitbat T-shirt
Also well done to Sue for her fundraising efforts last year too

I'm donating £1 to LL from every cartoon commission, and as I only started these last month I'm going to add the total raised from then until the end of the LL Faceprints Fundraiser to Trizia's total
Anyway folks, get snapping your labbies and send them off to Trizia - and a donation to LL would also be appreciated - Rhoni and 3p do a fantastic job, as I'm sure you would all agree ... and you can see that just from reading their diary and all the other LL posts this week
