I don't think I've been quite so irritated by any of the dog programmes on telly recently as I was by this. Anyone who gives their dog beer, chocolate, packets of crisps, and all the other crap are just being so cruel, plain and simple. The "killing them with kindness" defence is absurd, and the sight of some of those dogs was just pitiful. That poor, disgustingly obese yellow Lab being fed the enormous joint of meat and its subsequent sorry attempts to "chase" a ball was just appalling. As for the presenters trying to make it all jolly for television - shame on them.

"Help, I'm a fat, thick, thoughtless ar*e with no brain who'll do anything to get on the telly" is much nearer the mark!

Apologises for bad tempered rant, and yes of course I could just have turned it off...

I have 2 girls.....same breeder...one is 'tabletop mountain '( Sandylands ) the other ' slim knickers ' ( full working )

They look chalk and cheese. Beth's build makes Tilly look 'big '. She isn't...just different if that makes any sense.

I caught glimpses of the programme ( saved to watch after LL week lol ) and agree with what you all say but genetics ( outside fat ) do come into play?
