We would like to bring you some of LL happy reuniting stories ( best we can anyway Very Happy ) hope you enjoy Very Happy so..to kick off......

Kimi the missing labrador from York Area

A beautiful 15 month old black lab, who had been recently spayed, so shaven area was still visible and she still had her stiches in, was stolen along with owners landrover from Dunnington, 9th August 2005'

Kimi was then dumped and was running scared. Sighted in a field on A64 near Hop Grove at 6am following day. Last seen with red collar and disc with name. There had been no news for over a day.

As soon as Lost labs was alerted we went into action, because we are given licence to post on LF for cases like this, a member Michaela, came to the rescue. We exchanged all contact numbers and she headed of to the area.

CAP.. Wednesday 10th - 1.30 pm
' UPDATE

I have just spoken with distraught owner who informs me Kimi is VERY timid and is most likely to be hiding scared rather than running, so there is hope that she is still near the sighted spot. Therefore I have advised to spread the contents of her hoover bag there to keep her near what she knows is ' home and familiar, until we can people to the area.

Kimi is so timid that no one must walk up to her else she will take off and is near a horrendously busy A64, but she should be ok if you stay / sit at a distance gently talking to her and throwing treats to keep her there while contacting the owners who will get to you.

Kimi has a wonky right ear which doesn't quite fold flat. She is a F/T type, not stocky and with long legs.

A silver car with 2 drivers pulled up to the L/R and one got out and stole it....the silver car has been located by police near a Travellers site !!!!

Crime reporters have been contacted by police and are reporting in papers etc - is't it refreshing to see the wheels in motion ! '

10th - 8.22pm

Nothing positive sadly, but the owner has been up in a plane searching all evening...our Michaela has been out searching and put posters in local areas and have also been in connect with the owner.

Tis likely that Kimi will head to water and going into the the wind...so any searchers look upwind for rubbish sites, bins, skips, or anywhere she could find food.

All Yorkshire press have been contacted.

If anyone else can help, from their pc desks that would be so helpful. We have a poster that can be emailed to any establishment in the areas....don't even need to move, your fingers are all thats required !

This pup is lost, scared and probably in pain'

8.38 pm...from Micheala

'No good news from me. Got back a while ago from looking but still no sign of her. There are so many places she could be around here.
Have read the owner had a helicopter out looking for her that's fantastic and probably the most effective way of looking in these fields here and probably the most expensive as well but who cares about that at a time like this.

I have printed off the poster, she is a lovely looking lab, and posted a few around locally, have done the main vets, post office, local grocers etc. I ran out of posters and came home to do some more and now I have run out of paper typical just when you need it. Will do some more tomorrow and post them around some more places.

I did get chatting to one man in the shop and he says he was over that way this morning and will be out again tomorrow and will look out for her, he was so annoyed with those gypsies and their antics. '

11th ..1.51 pm

'Sighting @ 12.15 today help needed NOW

Kimi is in a 30 acre potoato field horribly close A64 York bypass / ring road. Near the roundabout she was spotted on yesturday.

Farmer spotted her at 12.15 today as spraying pots.
She is laying low in a 3ft hedge

Was seen in copse in field but took off when farmer tried to approach across the potato field towards the hedge border of that field ( approx 1/4 mile from huge main roundabbout.

The other side of the hedge is a small valley full of thick brush and that is where the owners are currently searching

ALL SEARCHES PLEASE START FROM ROAD IN, WHERE POSS SO WHEN / IF SHE TAKES OFF SHE RUNS TOWARDS THE OWNERS NOT TO THE ROAD

Has only moved 1/4 mile since 6am yesturday and is currently trying to hide within the potato crops ( they are 3ft high so she won't be easily visable )

30 acres is a big field BUT SHE IS DEF IN THERE

PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH HER else she may run onto road, stay at distance and call owners '

* Micheala rushes to site *

11th - 3.32 pm

'I posted 2 mins after she was found so we don't know her condition at the moment, bearing in mind she has recently been spayed and still had her stitches in

Kimi was huddled, scared but hopefully not injured, well into the bushes.

Her mum, who was maning the phone at home, is eagally waiting to be renuited. I am calling them later this evening to see how she is....I will let you all know.

Her mum has been completly moved by the concern from total strangers ( LF, LL and others ) who have been sending their wishes and has asked me to thank everyone. '

' We personally want to give Micheala a HUGE hug for all her efforts and help...................with people like you Micheala we prove it can happen no matter how difficult it may seem...Thank you from Lost Labs '

11th - 4.11 pm

'Just got home am so glad she has been found. I rushed to the local vet which is the nearest to the field but she hasn't gone there, was hoping to hear she was doing fine but not sure which vet she has gone to now. Hopefully we'll get an update from the owners later. I do hope so.

Cheers for the huge thank you, that was lovely but really Rhoni & Kaye you helped so much with your military organising and word spreading you should get medals girls.
Only wish I could have had more time actually looking, damn work always gets in the way of life.

Right I'm going to heave a big sigh of relief and collapse in a heap!!!! '

11th - 7.40pm

'Hi everyone,

Have just spoken to Kimi's owners.

She is ok.....very very tired but has eaten and drunk loads. Initially there are no medical probs so are letting her settle back home before seeing the vet in the morning.

The rescue was quite scarey...having searched the boundry's off the field searchers returned to their cars and her dad looked back, saw her head pop out of a bush but she ran, in the wrong direction, so they stopped at safe distance and spent a long time gently calling her name.

All of a sudden she ' connected ' ( trauma left her, temporarily ) and she raced to the daughter and threw herself at her.

The landrover has been pulled on the M1 near Mansfield and the driver arrested !!!!

This feels so good - this is how it is ment to be - all agencies working together and the dog lovers coming together to search to find a lost pup that could potentially be their's. '

12th - 1.55 pm

' Kimi's mum has just called to let me know a newspaper took the story....

http://www.thisisyork.co.uk/york/news/YORK_NEWS_LOCAL7.html

Kimi is well today just very tired.....but not a scratch on her and not injured. '

17th - 7.15 pm from Micheala

'Just a quick update North Yorkshire council has awarded the culprits responsible for Kimi's ordeal with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order yesterday not sure if this will suffice for their next victims of crime but at least something was done about it this time. '

Micheala was an absolute star and LF Branwen enlisted her daughter also...... Very Happy Along with the owners...it was a long two days and sleepless nights .....

Very Happy Very Happy Welcome to our world..... Very Happy
