I found this forum whilst looking for info on labs. My fiance has always had a dog (rescue- mongrel) and would love another one ie black puppy. We are debating the rescue/breeder issues at the moment. The dog must be able to live with rabbits (I breed rabbits for show - not as prestigious as Crufts though). It would be a pet but I'm interested in show stock being a breeder myself (loads of bunny breeders have dogs and some also breed them).
Best wishes Very Happy

Hello and welcome to LF.

I bred rabbits many years ago. Never went into showing them though. At one point i had over 100.

Up until a few weeks ago, we had a pet rabbit and our lab pup was fine with it. He would just sit in front of the hutch watching the rabbit. Now he only has a gerbil to watch and he makes no attempt to get at him! So im sure that you would be fine with a lab pup

Hi and welcome to LF Very Happy

It is possible to find rescue labs that get on with bunnies,I have three rescues myself and they live with two rabbits and two cats Wink
If you let us know what area you are from we can point you in the right direction for a lab rescue in your area.

If you look to your left of the screen under lab info is a breeder guide if you wanted a pup.

What kind of bunnies do you breed Question

It's really a question of teaching, although I believe it is easier to bring a puppy up knowing that rabbits are not for chasing, that to get an adult rescue, who may have already enjoyed the thrill of the chase.

Regards, John
