I had dropped OH off at the station on Friday morning, and on my way home whilst listening to Radio 2 they mentioned the eclipse that night (you see where this is going?) and the weather was lovely, so thought it would be an ideal night to watch it.
About 10pm I went and collected OH after his night out and when travelling back in torrential rain I remembered the eclipse and said it was typical as the day had started off so nice and now we've missed it with all the rain.
Yesterday evening I was speaking to my mum and she asked if I'd seen the eclipse Saturday night... I said, 'no it was Friday and was raining here', so she said 'no it was last night'.
I went online and saw the news story of the eclipse Saturday night... so I listen to the repeat of the Radio 2 show this morning online as I was sure they said it was Friday night, but alas, no they did say 'tomorrow night', as in Saturday night I blame the niose of the car while I was driving for my mis-hearing
So I will happily receive Monday's Numpty Award....
Lol Karen, you are not alone in your eclipse numptiness
On Saturday night, when I was sound asleep, I was awoken by a text message from my sis-in-law saying 'have you seen eclips, we're watching it now!'
So as it sounded exciting I had a quick think what 'eclips' could be and decided it must be something to do with the computer, (e-clips?) so I rushed downstairs bleary eyed and switched it on, checked my e-mails, but after about 10 mins of sitting there not having a clue what I was looking for, I stumbled back to bed in confusion
I only realised that it was an 'eclipse' on Sunday morning when my 10 year-old son told me had watched it at his aunite's
It was my birthday on Saturday and my (very drunken) friends tried to convince me that they had arranged an eclipse just for me! hehe...think i may have seen it but it could have been my blurry (and also very drunk) eyes!! lol!!
Now that's really odd. We were on Anglesey this weekend, and went out and about in the evening, I kept saying 'it looks like an eclipse', but I swear knew nothing about it until I just read this post. I did, however, try to take a night shot of the reflection of the moon over Red Wharf Bay, you can't see the moon at all, but it wasn't a bad first attempt at a night shot.
ps if i'd realised it was an eclipse, i'd have at least tried to get the moon in the shot too, i just cut it off, as you can see!
