Bournville's 10 weeks old now (we've had him 3 weeks) but we've been having trouble with his poos this week. It started on Mon night when he did one lot of daiarrhoea so I phoned the emergency vet who said to keep an eye on him. His next poo was fine.
The same thing has happened the last 2 nights as well though. He has 1-2 lots of diarrhoea, then he's totally back to normal. He's fine in himself & seems quite happy.
Is this normal for puppies?
Thanks

It can be.. what are you feeding him? Are you following the same routine? Is he picking anything up and eating it that he shouldn't be?

We initially got him Puppy Pedigree but the vet suggested Hills Science plan, so at the moment he has half & half. We were feeding him puppy treats but we've stopped everything but his puppy food now, just incase.
He'll put absolutely anything in his mouth, so we did wonder if he's eating something from the garden.

hopefully it will be something that he's picked up.
Just be wary of vets recommending Hills as they are on commission for it and it might just not be the right one for your dog.
altho the irregularity of the pups diahorrea suggests it might be stuff he's eating in the garden or something
hope he gets firm poops soon!

I would do the chane over in the next week and then see if his stools improve on the hills... but like Sam said, some vets are on commission to recommend the stuff - we prefer burns
www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk
but there are loads of other good nutrious feeds out there... also be aware (i didnt know this until i joined lf), but many pet feed companies actually test on animals using quite unethical practices... there's some posts about this dotted around in the various sections...
