Hey everyone,
Ruby just ate her first foreign object, a piece of plastic cling wrap! Should I be concerned? Is it likely she will just poop it out? Or could it cause problems?
Get used to it Katie, sure Ruby will soon be keeping you thoroughly busy removing foreign objects from her mouth!
She should just pass the cling wrap through or maybe sick it back up again. Just keep an extra good eye on her to make sure she is her normal self - eating/drinking ok and pooping like only a pup can!
Any signs of distress/discomfort and pop her down to the vets but I wouldn't worry unduly at this stage.
Thanks, Jilly. I'm not worried, I've read a gazillion stories on here about all the different things dogs have eaten and have just passed, but thought I'd post just to be sure
awww katie! it is amazing the things they pick up and have a nibble off!! if it is a small piece I should think it will come straight through as jilly said if she seems out of sorts at all over the next few hours get her checked out. It will be the first of many foreign objects eagerly awaited to pass out the other end lol
Well it was enough to cover half a tray of meat! She nabbed it out of the bin She's still running around like a loon and taking her training treats no probs! She just went outside to try and poop (I know it won't pass this quickly!) but I went and watched her and only a little bit came out. I'll keep an eye on those lovely brown slops over the next day or two
Ruby ate this piece of plastic wrap (not that small either) Tuesday night, it's now Thursday morning and I haven't seen any sign of it. Should I be worried yet? How is such a small puppy going to pass this plastic?
She is eating, drinking, playing, sleeping and pooing as normal, except she threw up after her meals 3 times yesterday (and proceeded to then eat it up again before I could stop her! Ewwww!!!) Should I be taking her to the vet now? I wasn't worried because I read on here about all the different things labs eat on a daily basis, but my mum is getting me worried because she is concerned that it's plastic.
