hi
following on from Jule's thread about the WI, I started to wonder what sort of things people get up to in their spare time.
I'm looking for a new challenge (preferably not involving heights) and wondered if anyone has any ideas, wild or otherwise
I've always wanted to touch a snake so I might take up reptile handling, spinning plates is out, because I've done that for years at home in the kitchen And I can't afford to go back-packing in Peru, besides I'm scared of spiders (plus social services would be on my case about leaving the kids )
I dont have time for hobbies, but when i did a few years ago i went to tap dancing lessons and loved it !!!
My hobbie seems to be walking Abbey which is more like a social event ,we meet up with a gang of people and dogs every morning and we have a good old chin wag while the dogs are all playing. Its fab !!!!
i want to take up horse riding, i had a lesson snowboarding at an indoor arena too which i loved!!! id love to go to snowey places and snowboard - but my OH was rubbish at it lol
We breed top class exhibition poultry and show all over the country!!!!! Its more common than you think my oh loves telling people he's washing his c**k (chicken) that is???? hehe
ooh I love horse riding Marinda, there's nothing like a runaway horse to blow the cobwebs away (yes, I'm speaking from experience! )
i drop so many hints to my Oh about taking me - i moved from the middle of the city in leicester to a beautiful place here in the west midlands which has more access to the country and horse riding oppertunities!
think i need to drop harder hints lol
id love to go somewhere for a weekend and spend the weekend riding!
Well not only do I Belly Dance ......I also Knit . I belong to the K9 Knitteratti.. ... I also draw and I've produced a few portraits in Pastels...mostly of horses and I've got a really scary commission on at the moment; a horse, a red indian and a wolf...I'm too terrified to start it .
I had to give up horse riding (and my horse ) but I still long to get back in the saddle and I regularly have to visit my sisters farm, just to get my horse fix.
Other than that, the rest of my clan keeps me more than busy....well for now anyway.
I only ever did horse riding once ,i went with a friend and it was a 2 hour trek over fields, never again my bottom and under carriage was that sore i literally couldnt sit down for about a week, OUCH !!!
oh Lorri I have been there too your poor under carriage
I went riding in the lake district last year and the bally horse had slippy shoes on and it kept going ar*e over t*t on the roads which were hot and slippy too but I survived although my heart was really beating going downhill
