I am so sad to say that Bruce was put to sleep today. After much heartache and deliberation my husband and I decided it was the right thing to do.
Bruce's hip dysplasia was so severe that it was cruel to make hime wait 5 months for surgery. The vet said that they would strip all the nerves out of his hip joints to alleiviate pain - we said no.
It was so sad to see such a beautiful pup of 6 months try to run and play. He could manage all of 5 minutes exercise then he would yelp in pain for an hour.
The vet said it was the worst form of hip displaysia he had ever seen.
I say that it was the greatest loss to the best breed of dog in the world.
We will love you forever Bruce.

i am so so sorry to read your sad story. I bet Bruce had a fantasic life with you, all be it too short. It was the kindest thing in life that you could have done. He now has a pain free life at the bridge. My heart goes out to you. Take Care X

Thankyou so much. He did have a wonderful life with us. He gave our family so much joy and bought us all closer together. He got us walking in the park - even when it was teeming with rain.
We adored him and we're so gutted to lose him.
