Hugo's got explosive watery yellow diarrhea, he's had it since yesterday morning, he seems fine in himself although maybe a little more cuddly than normal like he's feeling sorry for himself. we fed him as normal yesterday but havent given him anything to eat to day yet. my other half had to get up in the night with him and he messed yesterday in the house twice and thats something he's not done for months.

I'm starting to get a bit worried about it, i know dogs do get the runs from time to time so yesterday but though it was that but as it's carried on today i'm wondering if a trip to the vets is in order.

any advice ?

Sarah

How old is Hugo?

I tend to starve mine for 24-48 hours, and then give small but often servings of fresh cooked minced chicken and cooked rice, mix equal portions of each, give that for a day and then gradually introduce his normal food mixed in with the chicken & rice over a couple of days.

If this doesn't work , then take him to the Vet, also make sure he is getting water into him. Smile

If you want some reassurance, most vets will usually get the vet nurse to speak to you over the phone if you give them a quick ring.

Then they also would probably save room for him tomorrow if he needs to go.
