I've just been investigating insurance for Biscuit and I can't believe the quotes I'm getting compared to other people.

M&S want just under £400!!!! And PetPlan were £460!!!

I've found much cheaper ones - More Than, Lloyds and Direct Line are all around the £200 mark but I know their cover isn't as good.

I really want the best cover I can get for Biscuit just in case - is it worth the extra for M&S?

Petplan do 2 different covers one is basic cover and they have a maximum amount you can claim on vet fess per year

Then they have a supreme one which has unlimited Vet Fees,

I am with Pet plan and claim constantly due to Hersheys ligament problems they have never denised a claim and i get the cheque usually in about 10 days sometimes longer but I get a letter inbetween sayinmg there is a delay.

Which ever Insurance COmpany you go with check all the details of the plan and make sure it is what yoiu want the last thing you want if your pup gets hurt is to find out you are not insured for it.

I pay around £10 per month per dog (a little less for Gracie as she is a crossbreed) and although it seems steep I wouldn't be without it. I have claimed so much back and they have never quibbled it either. I'm with M & S

Just reread, and the quote from M&S you had does seem very high to me.

M&S have shot up!!, CJ`s was £128 last year and that waas with zero excess Shocked

Are you sure you put the details in correctly, not suggesting you havn`t or trying to patronise, but that does seem steep, they were going to charge me that for Cinyd, but she`s almost 10, so it understandable Smile

M&S did go up, they were £127 the first year, and we recently renewed for £200, but £400 sounds ridiculous. Are you sure the website hasn't gone mad?!

I've tried it on a few different days now and I keep getting the same quote - I think its my postcode as I live in London. I tried it with my parents post code in Essex and it went down to £250.

The quote with Petplan is for the Supreme package with unlimited cover but there is excess of £90 whereas the M&S one is for zero excess.

We are with Tesco - the higher of the two levels they offer, although this is limited to £4,000 per condition over the lifetime of the pet, and £70 excess. I'm not saying it's one of the best, but I pau around £12 a month for Leo and we had no issues at all when we claimed for the blood tests etc for Leo's allergies.
