Forgot to add this yesterday

Took Maj to vets as she is not herself and I said to the vet she is swollen around her middle, she has no waist which she always has and not pooing thought it could be that.

Still no poo but not bunged up after her internal exam said there was nothing there but she still looks like she has put on about 3kg and ot add she is on a diet too as she had reached 31kg and I wanted her to lose a little which she was done but now has stopped.

Why could she be swollen??? Confused

Has the swollen tummy come on over time Carroll, or since Majic stopped eating?

Oh no, poor Majic. I can't think why she has a swollen belly Carroll, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge will have some ideas for you.

Best wishes for Majic

Fay xx

Poor Majic and poor you Carroll, you both seem to be having a hard time of it lately! Hope everything returns to normal quickly.

I'd be a bit concerned that she has a blockage somewhere higher up in her digestive tract (out of the vets reach) and I think I'd want an x-ray done just to find out.

I'm also thinking some kind of bloat or twisting of guts, maybe not extreme enough to cause her to have a lot of symptoms but, enough to cause her bowels to only empty slowly, maybe causing a build up of gasses (hence the swelling).

Having a very limited knowledge of Hypothyroidism and Cushings, I wouldn't have thought that the swelling would have come on so quickly and there are usually other symptoms too...thickening/loss of fur etc.
