you lovely folk never cease to amaze me... thank you all so much for your kind wishes, those vibes and hugs are much appreciated
I guess its just a waiting game now to be referred, I'm not sure how it works, Jake is still wondering around crying today dad stayed home all day just in case there was something up but we are not sure why he is doing it?? is it the ga, is he hurting, or did it just traumatise him? he wants to play and seems to love being on his back even to chew a chewy which something we haven't seen before.

hello karen i am so sorry to hear about jake i don't have a lab i have two springers. Rosie has hd on the 29 nov rosie had a cruciate lig repair now on the mend also having syiniguin our thoughts to out to you
So sorry to hear that Jake has HD, but thank goodness you have him insured and can get him every bit of help he needs.
The crying, and lying on his back, as it's new, does sound like he is uncomfortable, but that may be due to the recent manipulation and will hopefully subside. Hope he can have his treatment soon, you should be able to see the specialist almost straight away. Don't let them keep you waiting - be a thorn in their side until you get seen!
All the very best for a full recovery - hugs to you Karen and just try to take one day at a time.
We had a call today from our vet to say they have booked Jake in to the GWR referrals, where the orthopaedic specialist is Hugo Schmökel DrMedVet PhD DipECVS MRCVS (whatever all that means) anyway it means another GA as he wants to take more xrays and measurement, so that the correct hip can be ordered, then all being well he will operate on Thursday or Friday, 3 GA's in a week... I dont think my nerves will cope. We have the xrays so I will try and post them for those of you who like to see that sort of thing i know i do but dont fully understand... Mr s is also going to asses the treatment/surgery for Jakes knee the original problem... I still cant believe that this awful condition can be present and not show signs
ahhh Karen i can quite understand your nerves being shot, having a dog go through what Jake is going to have to go through is hard enough, but with what you have already gone through you must be petrified...dont worry (easier said than done i know) bit i'm sure Jake with be fine.
We are here for you.
