Mojo hasn't been out since Sunday when she sliced open one of her pads, so by now is feeling very bored....So I thought I'd teach her to do something which doesn't involve dashing about, as she keeps opening up the wound.
We had been working on pushing doors shut, so we did a bit more of work on that....but she needed something new to focus on....so I taught her how to empty the washing machine. Gawd I love that clicker ...It was only 2 mins and she was pulling the washing out of the machine and handing it to me......So next week I'll see if I can get her to put it into the tumble dryer...maybe even switch it on......perhaps iron it when it comes out too....or is that asking too much.
I am trying Majic with doors, she has always opened them, but I need her to shut them as an artic blast blows round yer nether regions at night time and it is always when you are glued to a fab programme and don't want to get up to shut it
Oh I purposely haven't taught mine to open doors (well not by turning the handle) as Tara used to do this all the time (self taught) and let herself out.
Closing the doors took a bit of thinking about (and picking Becs brains ). I taught her first to touch a big X on a piece of card, then to push the card, then stuck the card on a door...now we are just down to a small selotape X on the door and she pushes it until the door clicks shut.
I use the word "push" and now I'm adding "the Door" in the hope that I'll be able to name a few things she can shut....like the stairgate, the fridge, etc, etc. So that is still work in progress.
She just loves to learn something new....her eyes light up when she sees the clicker in my hand.
