Thanks again for all the great advice. Bella is kennel trained and she loves her cage! Maybe I can put her in there when people first arrive. I will also try the turning thing, hopefully something helps!
labradash, I will check into the trainers around here. Hopefully I can find one for as cheap as you!
hilary, that would be amazing if you could send me a lead! Of course, I would have to pay you something, but I was going to buy one anyways, and we don't want to embarrass Charlie! If you are still interested in selling it to me please send me an email at mackjor@auburn.edu! Thanks!

Because the poster is in Alabama USA, I am very happy to send her the lead through my company post room free of charge if you want to send it to me Hilary.
Note to the original poster, the forum is in the UK, I think this may have skipped your notice, not that this is the slightest problem, we all have the same problems and questions about our Labradors the world over, but maybe Hilary would be less keen to post the lead interantionally.
Tell me to butt out if you wish but the offer to post it on free is there.
