We took Jake back to the vets tonight for a follow up on his skin problems and as he was so much calmer tonight, the vet was able to fully examine him. He has a very clicky back knee with far to much movement, the vet advised getting him xrayed asap so he is booked in for next Thursday he has been started him on a programme of Synoquin twice a day, 2 in the morning, 1 at night, they will also xray his hips at the same time... his loss of fur they think could be due to either a hormonal defect or thyroid problem, there is apparently a condition called cushings I'm not sure on the spelling and have never heard of it, any ideas anyone?

I want the best for Jake of course I do but after losing Jakie under an anesthetic I am so very scared, I cried like a baby when he said he needed the xray not because of the possible joint problems but because of the anesthetic I cant lose another one, not that soon.

(((((Karen))))) can you ask them if they can just sedate him rather than use GA?, would have thought they could for an xray.

I had a Yorkie that had Cushings disease but it was related to her having diabetes not losing her fur which she never did.

I`m sorry i must have missed a post somewhere cos I didn`t realise Jake had hair loss problems, I`m wondering, if he came from a place where he was kept outside most of the time, if it could be related to him now being in the house with the central heating etc?
