Becs sending me a PM this morning reminded me of something I thought I'd share to brighten up a sad day or two on the list.

Two years ago my old boy Dylan was lucky enough to win a big class in the Gamekeeper ring, and then go 'Best Labrador in the Gamekeeper ring' at Crufts, lovely trophy, more than a few tears.... and.... (looks slightly embarassed) a good few congratulatory drinks...

So (and Becs will know what prompted this) afterwards the BBC wanted to do a quick interview, just a few words. I was pulled to one side, and I THOUGHT they were just fiddling with their camera and setting up... whilst that was happening and I was pulling my stomach in and trying to make something of my hair (and think sobering thoughts) along bounded a good friend of mine, Lesley, who i hadn't seen all day. Now Les is a short, fairly round lady, and for Crufts she always wears something....well.... eye catching...

Being a Pompey girl, she is not the sort to stand on ceremony, so bounced up twirling and flouncing across the hall showing me her diamonte coated jacket and matching trousers (bright purple!) So - I just blasted out at a zillion decibels 'F*** me! Its Shirley Bassey! Give us a song, girl!'

.... I got a infuriated 'errrrrrr CUT!' from the interviewer who's cameraman had just started filming Dylan sitting next to me with all the dignity in the world..... Mortified I begged him to say that wasn't on fillm but sadly it was... He didn't have time to set it all up again, so in the end just a brief majestic shot of Dylan was used, with the sound firmly OFF in the highlights and the voiceover 'and today in the gamekeeper ring....' was used!

I am so ashamed. Chuckle.... Had to share because Becs mentioned going on Blue Peter after winning BIS this year (of course!) and I really don't think I would or should be allowed anywhere near kiddie's TV! GRIN.

LOL! My only claim to fame was when my legs appeared on the box the Crufts before last, wearing a very fetching pair of breeks and gun stockings! Embarassed
