Hi,
The Gang were given a tin of sausage roll sized rawhide chews for Christmas which had been bought at Pets at Home.
I hadn't given them any of them as I thought they looked a bit bright and garish and I don't tend to give them rawhide as it come staight out the other end Shocked
I'd stuck them on top of the kitchen cupboard but when I was at work today my OH found them and gave them each one. All was well until he noticed Ugo gagging and panicing. He open Ugo's mouth and stuck deep into his throat was the chew, wedged into a tight, gooey lump. Luckily he managed to grip it and pull it out, but I dread to think what could have happened if he hadn't been watching the dogs.
Please be sooo careful with this type of chew........the remaining ones are now in the bin.
Becs and the Gang

Well done OH - shudder to think what could have happened.

Good point about feeding appropriate sized treats - Boomer always tries to swallow things whole so we have to be really careful what she's allowed.

The bin sounds like the best place for those treats Confused

oh blimey Becs. Thank goodness Ugo is ok.

I must admit Charlie does sometimes have raw hide chews (not the ones yours had though) but he only has them if we're around
