Have ordered a couple of books, absolute beginers guide to showing your dog & another called show me.
Hope they are some good. Was also reading about grooming, the girls get brushed every day anyway to get the mud off, so thats no problem. Have been working recently on getting the puppy hair out of Nudge's bum.
Wont be very keen on nail trimming, they do a fair bit of road walking so may be alright, failing that maybe a nail file with do the trick.
The one thing I was going to ask about was collar and lead, you know far better than me what looks good on a choccy dog.

You don't use a collar and lead in the ring - you use a slip-lead
Colourwise - Clover has a yellow/cream lead and I use a chocolate / black lead for Hally on the rare occasions she is shown (depends whether my OH remembers to slip it back in the bag )
You can buy leads here - or sometimes you can pick them up at shows (more than usually champ shows) - but if you are not used to using them and the dogs aren't used to them, would advise trying them out before you get in the ring.

Some PAH stores do cheaper slip leads (a little thicker than those from Balrion) but might be good as a starting point until you decide whether showing is for you (and it IS highly addictive )
