Take it as it comes.... every dog varies. To be honest the vast majority are a little sore and whimpery for about 12 hours after the general anethetic because GA DOES that to dogs, often makes them very unsettled and vocal for a short while, but after that most males bounce and within 24 hours are up and about merrily, eating and wanting to stretch their legs, and after a couple of days are back to full bouncing strength demanding walks and activity
If he comes through well, after a couple of days resume lead walks for a couple of days, but, to be frank, after 3 or 4 days after the op, if all is clean and healing well, go back to your absolutely normal routine.
Best of luck!

Yorkie (just under 10mths) was done just over a week ago and we were told he was to have lead walks for a week afterwards and to discourage jumping and going up/downstairs. He was whiny for a few hours after coming home and we used a buster collar for him at night times as he was a sod for licking his "poorly" bits, but other than that he's just been treated the same as always. He's been for his first off-lead run today (9 days after op) and couldn't be happier
Good luck Samson xx
