Here's another thing my OH and I disagree on. He says that because I give her "too much food" she poos it all out. Today on her walk she went 4 times and my OH thinks this is abnormal.

I always thought it was quite normal for a dog to poo several times during a day. Willow on average goes 2 or 3 times a day. Am I overfeeding Willow so she's going more, or am I feeding the right amount of a healthy diet and she just has a good metabolism?

IS there a normal? If so, WHAT is the normal? (She's 19 months GSD cross)

Not sure really Hayley as id say dogs are just like us and we also poop once/twice or more
Rosie only gets fed twice now daily and poops about 4 times but her poos are in good form and dont get loose near the end, that can be a sign of overfeeding
Sorry thats not much help but its nice to know what and how many others are going too

I never knew that - you learn something new everyday. My boy poos probably 5 or 6 times a day. Most days they are hard, but then we go through a stage that they are runny. He is only a puppy. He is on vitamins and the weather has been really hot in Aussi Land - 38 degrees tomoz.

Puppies poo lots more than adult dogs. You will find they will poo less as they get older.

My pup is still also a puppy and it has been the past two wks her poos have been ok.Mixture of what food, how much and how often can make a big difference
Dont think the weather changes the poo either Rachael, been hot/cold/cool/snow and sleets and shes still pooed the same.

Fidgit poos once or maybe twice a day unless she's not very well.

She is fed twice a day, breakfast and dinner.

I can't say that she ever poo'd more than that even as a baby.

All my dogs poop heaps (between 3 and 5x..with 3 dogs thats a whole lot of poop!! Laughing ), They are fed a working dog food once a day.

You can get Low residue dog foods that stop them going so much...bit more expensive though!

Lol Sonia ... Asha is just the same - one morning and evening, and usually a "hyper-poop" on her early evening run Laughing Laughing Laughing

She's 18 mths Hayley, so around the same age. I think it depends on the dog and the food to a degree, but 3-4 times would be a good estimate I reckon.
