my pup had a very similar issue. People kept throwing his ball off the back deck of our home. Then he would bound down two flights of steps across the yard and bring it back up. They did this over and over and I was inside the house.I had no idea they were doing this. Anyhow. He was limping a bit on his front right leg. He still ran at the park but then slowing down the limp would return. So after the vet took a look at him she told me he must have injured it and arthritis would likely set in. Same treatment rymidal. After 2 days on that (rymidal) the limp was gone. So I took him off it. Well the limp returned but worse. So the vet gave me more and told me don't stop this treatmen until all the meds are gone(7 days). I did and the limp has never returned. I hope you have the same luck. I worry about this damn dogs health more than I do my own. On a side note I continued to walk him on his lead or he would have freaked out without some kind of daily adventure. Good luck

____________ They wife brings home a 500 dollar puppy, and I say take it back. After a long fight the puppy stays. Fast foward 7 years. Divorced and the only thing I asked for is the dog. I love this dog more than I love anyone in the whole world.except for new wife |

Thanks for sharing your story chuffy - I'll keep up the Rimadyl for sure until it's gone. Glad to hear your pup was okay too - sounds like much the same thing. I'll see how we go with the exercise - she's okay at the moment, happily destroying yet another toy ... if she starts climbing the walls later I'll try some training and then a gentle walk around the field on lead to tire her out. It's funny, I really miss the walks when she's poorly.
