Asha is limping on her front left leg. Just a little, but it's definitely there, esp when she first gets up.

But, and this is what's confusing me - we just took a gentle off-lead walk around the field, and she's running like normal. And then limping again as she slows down.

She's also not quite okay in herself - 90% Asha, if you know what I mean. Getting tired more quickly, and licking the left paw a lot. But otherwise full of wags and leaping about like normal. We had a long day out yesterday, and she was in and out of the car, so she may have pulled something, I don't know.

What is best to do for her? No exercise? Gentle walks? Obviously if it gets worse we'll be off to the vets, but in the meantime I want to do the right thing .... any thoughts gratefully received .... ta.

Cally

Hi i would take her to the vet try and stop her running around, it could be lots of things, early treatment is a good idea to prevent more damage being done

Thanks Alyson, I guess you're right. The poor little mite seems to have spent so much time there in her 18mths to date ...

Just got an appointment for 4.30 today - she seems to be getting worse so I think it's the best thing. Just good to share the thought process on here - ta.

Good idea to take her to the vets, you say she`s licking at her left paw a lot, have you checked it to see if she has anything in it or a cut?

Back from the Vets and my little angel is drugged up on Rimadyl again with 5 more doses to go in pill form over the next few days. Sad

Nothing terribly serious, thank goodness, and her leg was given a thorough examination from toes right up to elbow. Vet thinks she has sprained her first bendy joint above the toes (sorry don't know the name Embarassed ) and it's clearly giving her a bit of bother. But no torn ligaments, or pulled muscles or, worse still and what I feared, not another manifestation of her neck problem. A big relief that, although he did say it could have been, so def the right move to take her early as possible.

So thanks for your thoughts guys, never quite sure what to do and it helps so much being able to come on here and get a sense check. Thank you! Very Happy

I know the rimadyl may be not what you wanted but at least she hasn't done anything lasting (fingers crossed)! She needs to be ready for her big show debut in April! LOL!

Thanks guys, and yes, it could have been so much worse I know. She's been a bit spaced out all evening - Rimadyl does that to her. Keeps nesting under the table and making herself into as tight a curled-up ball as possible, little love.

And pmsl Nic ... show debut??!!! I'll be chuffed if I can complete the b*****y application form! Observers only first time out I think .... will bring mandatory pom poms for Bloobie of course Laughing
