What sort of collar was it that snapped Sarah? Jess has a strong but light collar, looks a bit like webbing!

it was a strong collar a bit like webbing also but it had a plastic clasp and its that that snapped. i thought about a fastening like a belt with a metal clasp but a freind of mine finds that these bend if the dog pulls alot and Bailey pulls and is strong. Thanks Sarah

Have a look at the Rogz collars, they have a plastic clasp but are made so that the clasp passes through the ring, before clasping, when the dog pulls, the strain is not on the clasp.

We use the Rogz collars for our dogs, they can be pullers if there is something exciting around, but we've never had any problems with them. I also like the fact the clip "locks" so they can never be accidentally unclipped, reasonably priced too.

Hi,

Just caught up with this. looking at those sizes, they do seem huge, but Roxys one measures 20mm wide and goes from about 350mm to 550 mm , around her neck, quite tighly she measures 350 mm.

It might be woth e mailing them , because hers is definately smaller than the ones advertised. I bought it from my vets about a year ago.

HTH Very Happy

Hi. Was it one of the collars with a plastic fastening where one piece clicks in to the other? I have had those snap before now, if you need security you are better with a collar with a metal buckle fastening, the old fashioned stlye. Webbing or leather are equally good cos any collar is only as secure as its fastening.

Susana

The exact same thing happened to Neo's collar a couple of nights ago when I took him out for his evening of bouncing madness...One of the plastic pins broke luckily it managed to stay together though.... Confused

I am impressed with the Rogz collars, reasonably priced too ..thanks for the link Jaque!
