Brady is six months old today, so we're going to change him onto two meals a day this week. Anyone got any suggestions about the best times of day to feed him? At the moment he's on a "breakfast, lunch, dinner" routine and not sure which one of these to stop Confused

Any advice would be most welcome! Very Happy

Rona

I drop the lunchtime one - partly because it's more evenly spaced out, and partly because it fits into my routine better Smile

Hi Rona, we dropped Shadows lunch time feed at a similar age to Brady, gradually reducing the lunch meal and incresing the morning one. HTH,

Hi all

At nearly 8 months, we are still feeding Smudge 3 times a day, obviously spacing his portions out accordingly.

We were intending to carry this on as it suits him and us but is it wrong to do so? What are the pros/cons?

We are feeding him on James Wellbeloved.

All the best,
Nicola.

PS. Happy '6-month' Birthday to Brady!

Guide Dogs told us to put Lottie onto 2 meals a day at 6 months old. We feed her at 8am and 7pm. I must admit I thought cutting the middle meal would be a nightmare as Lottie is food obsessed like most labs, but she soon adjusted and stopped looking for her lunch after a few days.

I don't suppose it does much harm to have it split into 3 meals, although it would limit the time of day you can go for walks, because of the need to make sure they don't run around too soon before and after meals.

hi rona
i have just started to cut out maxs midday meal. over the last week i have cut it down day by day and today he just had a bonio. he still sat by the cupboard where his food is kept and gave me those eyes Sad
i just measure out his daily allowance, keep a handfull back for treats and training then split the rest in half and feed him at 6.30am and 5pm.

Hi there - We've also been advised to cut down Corbie's meals to two per day when he is six months (on 7th May) and I intend to cut out the lunchtime meal. He currently has 9am, 2pm and 7pm food times and this will stay as is without the 2pm meal.
