Hi

Does anyone have M&S pet insurance and have re-newed after the first year. We've already made 2 claims against ours for vets bills (impressed by the service so far and seems good value) and I'm just wondering if they put their premiums up massively if you've made a claim....?

Cheers
Em

OK year one premium was £127 and I made about umm £200 of claims and year 2 premium is £205 -I think M&S put there premiums up as a matter of course after the first year so I dont think yours will go up as much. I know someone who claimed £600 in the first year and second year went up about £20 more than mine HTH

In the first year of having Doobs we claimed well over £1000 and when it came to renewal it didn't go up too much. I was very impressed Smile

I have just had my insurance renewal through from M&S this morning, last year we paid £127 and this year it has gone up to £211 and they have also stopped the zero excess on vets bills and increased it to £50 - and we haven't even claimed anything. Has anybody else found that the zero excess has been pulled?

I think someone mentioned this before Nicki about the 0 excess being stopped but on closer inspection of the policy they found it hadn`t, apparently M&S are pretty ambiguous with their pilicys, but they still work out cheaper than most, luckily I`ve not had to use mine yet for CJ Smile

I am really confused about what to do now. I went to my vet and they recommended Petplan because they insure for life but from what I have read M&S insure for life too and there is no maximum per illness Confused

It doesn't really matter which I go for because my vet won't claim on my behalf I still have to pay myself and claim back.

I can't fault M&S.

We have claimed the full £7000 this year and Charlie will still be covered for any hip problem next year.

I know they have put their premiums up but for us it is definitely worth it.

We just gave our vet the claim form and they did the rest. We didn't have to pay anything (thank goodness)

we claimed every single little thing (just minor 'everyday' stuff like antibiotics) from M&S and our premium only went up the same as everyone elses. It seems like a big jump but still compares really well to other companies when you take the no excess into account.

I thought they'd stopped my no excess and put it to £50 too, but like Mary said, the wording on the letter was just rubbish and right at the end somewhere it says 'excess zero' or something like that. I rang and checked too and it's still zero!

Hi all

We have just received our renewal and our monthly premium has gone up from £10.50 to £16.30. I am a little disappointed with this as it seems to be quite a high rise.

We made a claim of £200 in the last year but it was all paid, with no excess to be paid by us.

Our new schedule of insurance states:-

"If your pet is under 9 years of age at the time of Treatment, you must pay the first £50 of the Treatment costs per condition per period of insurance"

then at the bottom:-

"The veterinary fees excess (Section 1) is reduced to NIL".

Am not quite sure, but from the posts above, it looks like there isn't an excess to pay.

Despite being a little disappointed with the price increase, I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency in which they dealt with our claim.

Al the best,
Nic
