Hi there,
My puppy lost his first tooth at 8 weeks and 3 days. Is this normal? How many do they loose and when do they get there adult teeth? LOL I was a bit shocked when he lost his tooth, I didnt expect pups to loose there teeth..... You can tell I am a first puppy owner, I am very green. Thanks all xo

Hi,

Basil started losing his around the 16 week mark. He did at about 12 weeks break one of his teeth in half chewing something in the car.

We only found 4 of his puppy teeth around the house the rest he ate i assume.

8 weeks does seem young, maybe it'll be a while before the rest.

Usually nearer 12 weeks but occasionally one comes away earlier. They can be nearly 6 months before the last ones come away!

Baxter's started coming out at about 16 weeks. We found loads, he used to suck them for a bit and then spit them out!

Some dogs spit them out, others swallow them. I think I found just about all of my first dog's but only just the odd one or two from others and none at all from several. It's only when you see a gap, and a new tooth poking through that you realise.

Regards, John

or the blood all over a piece of washing he's stolen from the line!
Coal's now 22 weeks and he's just lost his last one. He lost the little ones at the front, then the back ones and lastly his canines... they bleed lots! Sad

but didn't seem to bother him too much. Just gave him lots of ice cubes and frozen kongs to numb his gums.

he's got some huge ones at the back now! Shocked

Harvey is gorgeous!!

Our pup Ozzie is 4 months old and is losing teeth steadily (though I am yet to find a single tooth I can collect and keep!!). You can see his new teeth coming through are a lot bigger than his milk teeth, his gums are pink and swollen and he loves mouthing everything at the moment.

I have absolutely no idea when his first tooth fell out but I didn't notice his new teeth and pink gums until he was 16 weeks.

Where abouts in Oz are you? I'm an Aussie and I'm heading home for a month to introduce my hubby to all and sundy. At exactly this time in 2 weeks time we'll be sitting in a Qantas jet with our seatbelts on, taxiing up the runway on our way out of the UK yay!!!
