awww well done Lucy!!! you've done a fab job with Pheebs, she's such a lovely, waggy, happy dog and i'm so pleased it all worked out so well for you and her.
I spent all of Alfie's puppyhood worrying and stressing about his behaviour and what he did or didn't do but the second time you do definately enjoy it more I can't wait to hear all about your new pup and hopefully meet him and Pheebs again soon xxx
That's why I love this forum so much .. I really would be worrying over EVERYTHING if I hadn't read posts from you guys who have been through it all before and more importantly come out the other side smiling with a happy dog
I really do try to enjoy Rolo's puppyhood now as I know it will be over so quickly and I want to have lots of good, fun memories and not just ones of me agonising over the best way to rear the 'perfect' dog
Thanks for sharing your story Lucy, more good stuff to aspire to
Remember it all very well Lucy and remember you really hurting yourself when Phoebe dragged you through the Lake. But its all finally paid off and I am so glad you are ecstatic with the gorgeous girl xx
I was reading back the first thread and saw this written by Becs "You mark my words girl..... This time next year you will have forgotten how hard it is having a pup and you'll be all broody again!!!!! If I'm wrong I'll do a lap of the 2007 GT in my birthday suit!!!"
Never a truer word spoken!!
I know some people may think that she was behaving like a normal puppy but it was more than that.....once her food was changed she really was a different puppy. The bad start really set a president for the months to come.....I really feel bad about that now The one thing I'll regret forever is not enjoying her puppyhood more Not a mistake I'll repeat next time.
Thanks for posting the link to your original posts and for saying what you've said above. We've had Iggie for 2 weeks, and she can be so lovely sometimes, but she can also be very aggressive, bitey, barking, growling, and quite wild. She also snaps unexpectedly and has snapped at my face several times, biting me on the nose this evening.
We are trying very hard to be loving but firm, praise her for being good and teach her what isn't acceptable. But sometimes we do think that we've made an awful mistake and we are not going to be able to train her to be a nice dog.
I think we will look at her diet asap, as this might help like it did with Phoebe. Thanks again - it's given us a bit of hope that we haven't bought a demon doggie!
What a smashing thread, really lovely. A pleasure to read and I really hope is of huge reassurance to so many puppy owners tearing their hair out at the moment!

Blimey Lucy! I'd completely forgotten about my promise to do a lap at the 2007 GT in my birthday suit if you didn't get broody for another pup
My heartfelt thanks to Pheebs for turning into an angel and encouraging your 'Need Puppy Hormones' to flow!!!! Tell her I owe her a biscuit at the 2007 GT for stopping me from having to look a right twit!!
