Hi does anyone roughly know the adult weight for a male lab as the feeding guides always ask the adult weight but as i have not had one before i don't know and i dont think Bailey is eating enough Thanks Sarah
It can vary quite widely Sarah. A slim working dog can be as little as 30kg going up from there to probably around 35kg average right up to near 40kg for a really heavy one.
What are you feeding and how much and how many times a day... give it to me in grams if you can... also the brand and is it puppy or adult formula...
Is your Lab from field trial (working) lines or show lines? If you don't know look at the pedigree - is there lots of FT CH's (Field Trial) in there or CH's (Champions) and SH CH's (Show Champions)? How big was your boys mother? A big girl, or quite slight and streamlined?

Hi i have checked his pedigree and they are ft ch and one is If fc ch do you know what this means? also Bailey is on 50g of puppy bakers complete and one third of a tin of puppy pedigree 3x a day so in total thats 150g dry and 1 tin of pedigree which he loves but not so keen on the dry, this doesn't seem much but he doesn't always eat it all so it seems pointless putting more down but im just worried as it doesn't seem enough his mother seemed quite big for a female i thought and the vet thinks he will be big as he has massive paws. Thanks your advice is much appreciated Sarah
Charlie is fully grown now and hovers around the 28 - 29 kg mark mostly. He seems fine at that, but as already said, they vary widely.
I must say I really did not know what weight Charlie would settle at to start with, as he is such a mix of working and show lines. He normally has 350 g of Burns each day, and that seems to work well for us.
Oh and to say I think actually there is a little misprint on your pedigree and it is IR FT CH you have there in his background, which is IRISH FIELD TRIAL CHAMPION. It could be a UK based dog but it went over and gained his championship in the field in the South of Ireland.
