Maybe PM Di or John Karen, they are both such founts of knowledge I think they`ll be able to give you tips on how to go about things with Jack, poor lad, he`s not been taught anything in his life it seems, as you say your training a puppy in adult body
I know about being knocked over to, CJ catches me unawares sometimes, not got me off my feet but not for the want of trying

Hello again Karen - I just thought, have you tried the method we discussed, but wearing thick leather gloves, or gardening gloves or even oven gloves?!! This might give you a bit more protection whilst still giving Jack the feeling of having a treat from your open hand when you get to open it. It could be a bit fiddly but worth a go?
Hope all is going well with him.
