~Oh Ksaren, im reading this thread with a lump in y throat the size of an apple.
Jack looks adourable, but sounds a handful.
You are not betraying Jakie by having another dog, you will always remeber him. Jack will just help you cope better.
If you remember from your original post i told you we had lost Amber in a similar sort of way to how you lost Jakie, well a week later we fostered our Jake, when i first met him my first sentence under my breathe so the other foster couldnt hear was' OMG he has amber's eyes im never coing to cope....' My jake turned out to be a nightmare dog but he found his forever home with us, i just couldnt say good bye, he eased my suffering but i will never ever forget Amber and you wont Jake either
Karen I am so pleased for you. Jack sounds like a real whirlwind of a character. i
Please don't feel you are betraying Jakie because you aren't, Jakie will always be remembered and Jack will be making his own space in your family. I got Rouble 6 weeks after I lost Corrie as I had a weeks holiday already booked off work which was perfect for brinigng Rouble home and spending time with him, it would have been alot sooner otherwise!!
Lovely news Karen, and JohnW's words of wisdom made me straight away.
But he's right, you'll never forget your Jakie, you just need a furbaby companion. He sounds like he's really happy to be with you and I know you can do it! Sounds like chaos may reign for a while though
Hi Karen,
I'm delighted to see that Jack? has come to rescue you . I think it is the greatest compliment you could give to you lovely Jakie, to rehome his brother in his hour of need.
Welcome to your new home Jack- you're ebout to find out how good life can be boy!
Sorry Karen missed this yesterday not well at all but you know what I think and we are sooo happy the smile is back on your face. Will call you later xxx
Awww Karen this thread has had me in tears I feel the same as lot of the others have said, I feel it is Jakie way of helping you overcome your grief, to look after his brother, what a tribute to Jakie. Jack has found his forever home. That is so lovely
Whilst I did not know about Jakie, your post brought tears to my eyes. Not just sadness but also for your new found happiness that Jack has brought you. Each dog is so different, as you well know and as the others have said, they always have a place in our hearts.
Have fun training yourlive wire. I had one like that and although they are hard work, what an ego boost, eh?
So sorry to hear about Jakie, but he will always hold a special place in your heart. Fantastic that you have been able to give a loving home to his sibling.
May you , your family and Jack have many years of labbie love and fun x
