Hello everyone, I apologise in advance, this will be a long post...
As some of you know I lost my beloved Jakie on the 4th, I was and still am in a state of disbelief but I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the kindness you have shown, it means so much, you would not believe some of the hard comments i have had at work from non animal lovers. A HUGE THANK YOU to Georgia she has been so supportive, she has been really wonderful, when I think of all she has done... I couldn't bring myself to post here for days and when I did I saw what she had done, it was beautiful, I still haven't had the courage to read all the replies yet but i promise I will, you are all so very, very kind.. On a happier note I now find myself needing to introduce you to Jack ????? name, still undecided! My daughter, in an effort to ease my sadness, decided a puppy would help and because Jakie was so lovely her first call was to his breeder to see if they had any puppies, none are planned until later this year but they told her that they had Jakie's litter brother who was looking to be re-homed, they had him back while his owners made alternative arrangements as they could no longer cope with him, in their words, he is destructive and too much for the children to cope with anymore, she told Gareth, (my hubby) and unbeknown to me, they arranged to go down Saturday afternoon while I was at work.. I got a txt from him asking me to call asap, so I snook out and rang him... I was gobsmacked and a little cross to start with, it hadn't even crossed my mind to get another... not yet, anyway. He told me he was a lot like Jakie to look at but thats where the similarity ended, he is full on, very excitable, he said he would hang on for an hour or so while I had a think about going to meet him myself Sunday, so I knew he had made his mind up with what he wanted to do but I really felt I was betraying Jakie, I went back up to my office and didn't know what to do, so I emailed Georgia for a second opinion her reply and I quote ''have him have him'' I called Gareth and he brought him home Saturday evening...
We have had good nights with him, no accidents or damage a few cries but nothing major, we just ignored it, when we got up yesterday morning and opened the kitchen door he went beserk! he is so excitable you would think he had never met people, he used me as a skittle, LOL I went straight on me arse, then got covered in this big brown furry monster LOL he then ran all over non stop bouncing off the walls... I think he is turbo charged, later we took him for a walk, No! I should say he took us for a drag, he doesn't walk... he RUNS even on a short lead, his legs are in running mode, its as if he has no comprehension of walking... I can't hold him, Gareths arm and shoulder are killing him, they have been wrenched so many times LOL When he sees a dog its nearly impossible to hold on to him, it took both of us at one point, he is so excited and wants to meet them, heehee he really is the dog you see with people when your out walking and think OMG why dont you train him better, a total embarrassment, so full of life, its as if he has just not been socialised fully, he has no interest in tasty treats when he sees a dog, thats it! he is transfixed and totally oblivious to everything.... My cats are a big big concern, they had been coming down again for the last few months and it was lovely to see Jakie with them, but this one!! he has had the stair gate of it hinges twice to get to them, Jakie never even touched it, bless him, and had he knocked it off I think he would have been so worried by the noise it made, but not this one.... Bless him, he just needs training but FAST!!! he barges past as soon as you open a door, you dont stand a chance HEEHEE as you may tell, I am smilling again he is a nightmare at the mo but hey, maybe thats just what i needed after all.
This morning we decided we would open the kitchen door and totally ignore him, as he jumped up we turned our backs on him, I have the scatches to prove it!!!!!
I will keep you all posted with his progress and a list his of all his ASBO's then as soon as I can remember how I will get a picture added...

Don't worry Karen, we never forget those who go before. Our heart is big enough for all the dogs and the new one finds his own place in there.
Regards, John

Karen, Jakie will always be in your heart, but what a wonderful thing to be able to give your love to his little brother too.
Good luck with settling him into the family and of course keep us posted.

That's wonderful. Jack needed a good loving home and you had one to give. Perfect match! I'm sure Jake would have a waggy tail knowing that you were looking after his brother.
