Harley is very smart and sooo very busy,he has amazing stamina and would quite happily walk with my others for hours if I let him but I don't want to push it with his hips.hes now about 22 weeks old.
does anyone have and ideas on some new tricks I can teach him to mentally wear him out so poor maxi gets a break.
Harley is like an everready battery and just goes on and on,maxi needs some chill out time bless him Wink

Dont know any tricks or new training methods (unless you aren't using a clicker already) but what about a treatball? They are fab for wearing out dogs!!!!! They have some in the Furbabies shop I notice.

I had Mary Rays 'Teach your dog Tricks' (or something to that effect!) for xmas and it has loads of good ideas for teaching pups new things to stimulate and interest them. Well worth the money IMO
Ugo loves to learn new things- he can empty the washing machine, unzip my jacket and pull it off me, bow, spin and skateboard, open and close doors........its endless what you can do. I don't spend hours teaching him - just 10 minutes here and there but they are like sponges at this age the way they absorb new things. Have you tried clicker training? If you can clicker train then the sky's the limit!

I must admit Becs, I struggle with the clicker. I can do the basics but can't go further than that. I would love to teach my lot to do what Ugo does.

aww bless him,he sounds like he growing into a wonderful boy Louise Wink

trying to think of some things for you, what about hunt the treat, hide a treat for him and let him seek it out, also if he has a different energy levels than Maxi, maybe take them out somedays on different walks, let harley have a really good run.

hi Louise

Has he got a toy that he goes really mad for ? I would get the toy and hide it from him, start of with a really easy place to start with, like under a cushion, maybe with even a bit of it sticking out, then give him a command to 'find it', once he gets the hand of it, start making it harder for him. You can also do this out in the garden, with all the lovely cornish weather that you have. Wink

Or another one is, even the girls can do, if they want is, teach him to give them his paw, or to roll over.

If i think of anything else I'll let you know.

Sounds like he is growing up into a young fine man. Wink

xx

Thanks Tammy,he does do paw when hes not dancing those little happy feet around Rolling Eyes
his sits are perfect as is his recall with a perfect sit at the end Wink
his downs need a bit more work as although maxi was more than willing to show him, Harley can't dance and lie down at the same time like he can sitting up Rolling Eyes
I'm going to try the find it now!! will let you know how i get on Wink
