Hi Guys

With less than 5 hours to go before we collect Stan we're really excited.

We've been thinking about what we need for his home coming and have forgotten about cleaning up his mess!

What do you guys use to clean up after your dogs? Is there a particular solution or cleaning aid that helps remove both mess and smell?

Thanks in advance

Chris and Sandy

You can get solutions that clean and specifically remove the smell from PAH and online (sorry but I can't remember the names now Embarassed )... obviously if the smell lingers (which wont be noticed by us) the pup is more likely to re-foul that particular area...so obviously this is OK in the places where you'd like to encourage you pup to soil...

We used loads and loads of kitchen roll...we also like the domestos 4-in-1 spray cleaner...we also used puppy pads in Danny's pen as newspaper just got shredded - but not everyone is a fan of those Wink

I used washing detergent (that I use to for clothes washing) to clean up after Corbie. I was originally using disinfectant but then read that it doesn't get rid of the smell completely so the pup can still tell where it's been before.

I used Tescos equivalent of Aerial non-bio Laughing I just put it on a damp/wet cloth and rub on the area. Don't usually need too much on the cloth otherwise you'll have too much froth on the carpet Laughing Use a wet cloth with just water to wipe that off. Washing powder is also another you can use.

I made the mistake of not wiping the areas I had cleaned after I'd put the liquid on once when Corbie came into the bedroom one morning after going into the garden and he had a poopy paw... cream carpet... you can imagine Shocked I cleaned it up but it dried in a darker tone, but it was the first time I had used this method and I think I used too much liquid anyway - Live and learn Laughing

I used this its a spray and you just spray it on the area and let it dry naturally - they do it in a handy 3 lt tub too that I just decanted into and old Mr Muscle container for the trigger

I used a biological washing liquid to clean up, as it removed the odours as well so the pup really couldnt tell where it had been, and then left an old towel over the cleaned area to absorb any wetness. White vinager is excellent for removing any residual stains tho (new or old!). I am also a fan of the scented nappy sacks (from my local pound shop) for the intitial 'picking up'

we have a vax £60-£100. its brill. when Ella was peeing indoors it only took a jiffy to clear it up. we tended to poor a cup of water on the pee straight away to help prevent staining and then get the vax out ot suck it all away using a weak detergent mix in the vax. half an hour or so later theres no sign of the pee. also good for cleaning up after sickness and muddy paws. just dont use a strong detergent mix all the time.

We used an anti bacterial spray cleaner that kills the odour of ammonia that is present in the pee and that gets them to go in the same place again and again. Now she goes outside in the run which is made of concrete and we use a wonderful cleaner from Pets at Home called Petlife, Formula H concetrated disinfectant. It comes in a 2L bottle and you dilute it with water and it leaves a lovely fresh smell and kills all the bad bacteria.

I bet you are soooooo excited! I guess your little bundle of joy is now home! Can't wait to see pics!!!
