Well what a morning that was!
Decided to try Megans dog seatbelt/harness out by taking her on a little 5 min drive to visit my Dad.

I have no idea how long it took to get her harness on her in the first place, but there was an awful lot of rolling around the kitchen involved (and that was just ME). I would get one leg in, and then she would roll over and I would lose sight of what I am supposed to grab next, and the leg comes out. Then the leg goes in again, but I can't find the blasted fastener - now where is it? Oh - it's in her mouth. Right, Megan - LEAVE - ah gooood girl - no! no! now her leg has come out again!!! AAAAAARGH. Deep breath, start again.

So after 3 hours or so, the harness is on and I am on the sofa, too exhausted to even contemplate wrestling her into my car. Cup of tea in trembling hand, I am watching Megan do cartwheels around me, trying to get the thing off. She reaches around and grabs the back of the harness that attaches to the seatbelt, yanks it, and promptly falls over. Ok, then, I can see her thinking, what if I grab THIS one......and falls over again.

Anyhoo, to cut an extremely long story short, the harness stayed on - just - and off we went in the car (HOWL). Had a lovely visit at my Dads (although being an elderly man who loves hoarding and knick-knacks, I had to watch her like a hawk to stop her eating all his ornaments) and then we came home. She flaked out on the back seat on the journey back, and after lunch has been on the sofa fast asleep and snoring ever since! Bliss!!

Now I am just waiting for my OH to come home so I can pass out too!!!!

These puppies sure keep us on our toes! I swear in the past few weeks i have had Megan (My BC puppy- Same name Very Happy) i have lost about a stone because of all the running about behind her. lol. They drive you up the wall but they are 100% worth it Very Happy

Your little Megan seems to be settling in perfectly, she'll soon be lady of the house Laughing I think these 2 Megans are a pair, as my little Megan is already boss of the house at only 9 weeks old! lol

Laughing Laughing I can totally relate to that story Aimi .. but it wasn't me rolling around the floor trying to get the harness on for the first time .. it was an assistant in PAH Shocked

I was asking in there about sizing when I first bought it and had taken Rolo along. 'Well lets see' said the nice male assistant as he took it from the box Laughing

It was totally chaos .. me trying to hold Rolo on the lead the lad trying to get her leg in .. do it up .. and adjust the size Confused

Luckily he was a good natured sort and obviously an animal lover (you would think they all were at PAH .. but I have met some right miserable ones there!) and we eventually got her it sorted .. not before we had drawn somewhat of a crowd to witness the debacle Embarassed

And if your OH is anything like mine .. you will tell him the story and he will wonder what all the fuss is about Rolling Eyes

Lol - sounds like you had a busy time of it with Megan! She'll get used to it after a while - don't worry. It used to take me ages to get Toby into his and then he'd spend a good length of time trying to get it off...or once...he actually chewed through one of the seatbelts in the car that the harness was attached to! Embarassed

Anyway...he now loves his harness and doesn't mind me putting it on because he knows it means we're either going to a) training class, b) the beach or c) somewhere new and exciting!

Laughing

Thank you all for the words of encouragement!!
Jilly - I think your prediction about the OH will prove to be spot on, he already infuriates me when I tell him what a wriggler she is when I try and towel her off coming in from the garden - he just says, "she is always fine with me". "Darling....." I will say sweetly, "as you are so good with her, why don't you put the harness on her before we go out?" Ha! I will hand him the harness and stand back!!! (Evil laugh).
Regards,
Aimi and Megan
